Our 0.75" canvas is slimmer and lighter, ideal for a subtle look or if you plan to add a decorative frame later. The 1.5" canvas is thicker, creating a bold, gallery-style presence that looks great on its own.

Yes. You’ll be able to crop your photo and preview it in layout. If you’re using a rectangular photo for a square canvas, you’ll likely need to make some image layout adjustments to prevent white margins. (Need help? Just reach out via call, email or live chat.)

Check out these tips to help guide you as you think about choosing your ideal canvas print:

• Size: Think about the space you want to fill. For a large, empty wall, our 16" x 24" or 24" x 36" size make a bold statement. For smaller spots or gallery-style arrangements, 8" x 12" or 12" x 12" are perfect. Our 12" x 16" option is a versatile medium size that fits beautifully in most spaces.

• Orientation: Most sizes can be vertical (portrait) or horizontal (landscape). Keep in mind that our 12" x 16" canvas is horizontal by default, but can easily be rotated to vertical (16" x 12") if that better suits your photo.

• Depth & Frame: Choose between a 1.5" depth or a 0.75" depth for your canvas, with an optional laminated finish to make your photos really pop. If you select our 0.75" canvas, you can also add a black, white or walnut display frame. If you feel your canvas print looks best without a frame, no problem – we have that option as well.

Each canvas print comes with built-in hangers that make displaying your artwork a breeze. While we don’t currently include adhesives with canvas print orders, you can purchase Command™ Strips separately.

Prefer a framed look? You can easily add one at checkout when you choose our 0.75" canvas print. Some customers love the sleek, frameless style, while others prefer a polished frame – so we offer both to fit your display preferences.

Creating a gallery wall with your canvas prints doesn’t have to be intimidating. To help, we’ve broken the process down into a few key steps:

1. Gather your art

Collect all the canvas prints you’d like to hang. Whether you’re displaying only canvas photo prints or mixing them with other kinds of art, it helps to have a motif that ties everything together. Consider aiming for a specific colour palette or photo style. You can also compile all your vacation pics, make a collage of wedding snapshots or create a whole display devoted to your pet: whatever tells a story you love.

2. Try different layouts

You have your art, now time to experiment! Lay all your canvas prints out on the floor and arrange them however you like. Unsure where to start? Try using a large piece as a center point and then position smaller custom canvases around it. As you arrange and rearrange, you may need to try a couple of different layouts before finding the right one. Feel free to snap pictures as you go so you can compare layouts.

3. Prep and mark the wall

Once you’ve nailed down the layout, clean the wall and do any sanding necessary to create a smooth blank slate. Then, using newspaper or kraft paper, cut and trace paper sheets that match the different sizes of your custom canvases. Use painter’s tape to hang the sheets on the wall in your chosen layout and then step back to see how it all looks. You might need to adjust and rehang some of the sheets, or you may discover that you want to go with another layout altogether (and that’s okay!).

4. Hang

With your “faux” gallery all set and hung, use a pencil to mark where you’ll need to hammer and then remove the paper sheets. Now it’s time to hang for real! Our custom canvas prints come with built-in hangers, so all you need to do is hammer or screw in your hardware and plop the canvases in place. When you’re finished, go ahead and take a step back to admire your hard work. (While you’re at it, take a pic, post it to your socials and be sure to tag @VistaPrint!)

Keep your canvas looking its best by dusting it with a soft, dry cloth and avoiding harsh cleaners. We also do not recommend displaying your canvas print in direct light or high-humidity areas, as these can cause fading with time.
