Before installing

Car magnets are a great option if you’re looking for a custom size and shape for your car. Before getting started, you’ll want to see if your car is compatible with our magnets by placing a small refrigerator magnet on it. If it sticks, you’re good to go. If not, take a look at our car door decals – which are made with a long-lasting adhesive. Most car doors are made out of a metal material like steel, which works great with our vehicle magnets. But some newer car doors are made with smaller amounts of metal, which magnets won’t stick to. Note: Follow the care and usage tips in the FAQ section to avoid damaging your vehicle.

Sent to wrong address

So I updated my address when I ordered. Yet it still sent to my old address in another province. I tried to cancel it and it already shipped. no refund. Just a credit that was supposed to go towards my next order. Guess what? it isn't. Also when I try to reorder it says my current address (like it did before) but will ship to my old one. No way of fixing this. I was unable to contact vista print about this, as I was disconnected from the chat after they gave me a credit. Super disappointed with this whole situation. I also asked for express shipping as I want to get my business advertised asap. But they couldn't do that either.

Like all magnets, our car magnets stick to ferromagnetic metals, including iron, steel, nickel and cobalt. They will not stick to aluminum, fiberglass, wood or plastic. You can test what part of your car is magnet-compatible by sticking a refrigerator magnet on it. If the refrigerator magnet doesn’t stick, try our car door decals – which are made with a long-lasting adhesive.

Each car door sign is made of 0.85 mm thick PVC-free vinyl with a magnetic strength of 90 lbs. per square foot.

With proper care and use, custom car magnets can be used for about 2 years. At that point, we recommend replacing your magnet to prevent it from falling off your vehicle when you drive. See FAQs below for more maintenance tips.

We recommend creating an advertising magnet in a different (yet complementary) colour. This helps your magnet stand out and is the easiest way to create a consistent look across multiple vehicles of differing colours. Just make sure you keep your messaging and design simple and clear.

No, you’ll want to wait for your paint (or clear coat/wax job) to cure. The recommended wait time is 90 days for a new coat of paint, 60 days for a clear coat and 7 days for a wax.

With proper application, your magnet should stay in place for up to two years. We recommend the following application method:

1. Clean: Clean the vehicle surface and magnetic back with a damp cloth and mild detergent.
__2. Dry: __Let both your vehicle surface and your car magnet air dry completely.
3. Apply: Apply the magnet to a flat, metallic surface without bumps, curves or rust.
4. Maintain: To avoid damage to your vehicle, we recommend removing and reapplying your car magnet every 2-3 days. Clean the back of your car sign and vehicle surface weekly with a damp cloth and mild detergent.

You’ll know the magnet is properly installed if it adheres to the surface, if there are no air bubbles between the magnet and the vehicle surface, and if the magnet (including the corners) is flat against the surface.

We recommend removing and reapplying your magnet every 2-3 days. Leaving the sign on for long periods may cause damage to your vehicle’s paint. Clean the back of your car sign and vehicle surface weekly with a damp cloth and mild detergent. This will protect your vehicle and magnet against debris and build up.

Following these tips will extend the life of your magnet and protect the surface to which it’s applied. Failure to do so can result in permanent damage to the vehicle and magnet.
