For tax-exempt customers in the United States and Canada, Vista offers a streamlined process to register and apply tax exemptions to future purchases. Below are the steps to ensure your tax-exempt status is properly recorded and applied.

Refunds for Sales Tax Paid Before Exemption Approval

If you placed an order before your tax-exempt status was approved, you will need to request a tax refund through the appropriate tax office in your region. Specific state and provincial information can be found on the respective government websites.

Registering Your Tax-Exempt Status with Vista

Once your tax-exempt status is approved, all future purchases will reflect the exemption. Follow the steps below to register your status:

Step 1: Provide Proof of Tax-Exempt Status

To qualify for tax exemption, customers must submit proof of their tax-exempt status to VistaPrint customer service. Accepted documents include:

A valid exemption certificate (for US customers) or equivalent proof of exemption (for Canadian customers).
The form must include Vista’s headquarters address, where a Vendor/Seller’s Address is required: 275 Wyman Street, Waltham, Massachusetts 02451, USA
The document must be signed and dated within the last year.

Step 2: Submit Documentation

Email your tax exemption documents to ExemptSalesTax@vista.com and include the following:

The email address associated with your Vista account.
A non-editable copy of your tax-exemption certificate.
Information about which Vista entity you are purchasing from (You can find this information in your confirmation emails.):
- Vistaprint Netherlands BV
- Vistaprint Corporate Solutions

Step 3: Confirmation and Ongoing Exemption

Once your tax-exempt documentation is approved:

You do not need to resubmit it for future orders until it expires.
The exemption will be applied to your Vista account based on the expiration date provided in your documentation.
If no expiration date is listed, your account will be set to tax-exempt status for one year.
