If it sticks, you’re good to go. If not, try our car door decals.) Also, make sure your vehicle surface is smooth, clean and dust free. To protect your vehicle, remove and reapply your magnet every 2-3 days. Clean the back of the magnet and surface weekly with a damp cloth and mild detergent.
Get noticed on the road
Turn every drive into a marketing opportunity. Car magnets for business are one of the simplest ways to get your name and logo in front of pedestrians and passing drivers – no permanent commitment, just high-visibility branding on the go. Our magnetic car signs are wind tunnel tested and highway safe at 80+ mph, so they'll keep up with you wherever the day takes you. They're also salt-spray and brine resistant, so they hold their own on winter roads and coastal routes too. Made without PVC, they're free from harsh chlorinated materials and built for commercial-grade performance. Use them on cars, vans or trucks to build a consistent brand presence across your whole fleet.
Built to hold, built to last
At 0.85 mm thick with a 90 lb/sq ft pull strength, these magnetic vehicle signs are made to hold – on steel and other ferromagnetic surfaces, through rain, wind and whatever the road brings. Every order ships flat so magnets arrive warp-free and ready to apply. At highway speeds, our rounded shapes or designs with rounded corners help reduce wind resistance and lift. Sizing-wise, smaller options like the 3" x 3" or 11" x 3" work well on the back of a car, truck or van, while mid-tier and larger sizes are better suited for door placement. Need truck magnets for a full-size van or commercial vehicle? The largest sizes (18" x 24", 24" x 24" and 24" x 36"), give you the most coverage. One heads up: some newer vehicles are built with lower steel content, which can reduce or prevent magnet hold. The same goes for areas that have had body work – the polyester resin filler most shops use acts as a barrier between the magnet and the steel beneath. In either case, a quick fridge magnet test will tell you everything you need to know before ordering. See the FAQ section for more compatibility tips.

Frequently asked questions
Choosing the right size depends on where you plan to apply your magnet. Smaller sizes work well on the back of your vehicle, while mid-tier sizes are ideal for standard car and SUV doors. For trucks and full-size commercial vans, the larger options give you the most visibility.

Our car magnets stick to ferromagnetic metals like iron, steel, nickel and cobalt, but won't hold on aluminum, fiberglass, wood or plastic. The easiest way to check is to press a refrigerator magnet against the spot where you want to apply your magnetic car sign. If it sticks, you're good to go. If not, our car door decals – made with a long-lasting adhesive – are a great alternative.
Had body work done? Polyester resin filler, used in most repairs, can prevent the magnet from holding in those areas. A quick fridge magnet test will tell you everything you need to know before ordering.
With proper care and use, custom car magnets can last about 2 years. At that point, we recommend replacing your magnet to prevent it from falling off while driving.
To get the most out of your vehicle magnet:
- Remove it before any professional car washes or power washing
- Avoid using it in extreme weather conditions
- Remove and reapply your car magnet every 2-3 days
Note: Applying any material to a painted surface without following these care and usage instructions may result in damage to the surface. See our terms and conditions for more information.
For colour, we recommend choosing a design that's different from – yet complementary to – your vehicle's colour. This helps your magnetic car sign stand out and makes it easier to maintain a consistent look across multiple vehicles with different colours. Keep your messaging simple and clear for maximum impact.
A few design tips to keep in mind:
- Avoid small, floating elements
- Avoid very fine lines and detail
- Keep edges smooth and simple
- Upload high-resolution artwork
- Keep important text away from the safety lines in the design tool
Proper application makes a real difference — with the right technique, your vehicle magnet should stay in place for up to 2 years. For optimal conformability, apply at temperatures above 50°F and follow these steps:
1. Clean: Wipe down both the vehicle surface and the back of the magnet with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Make sure the surface is free of dirt, dust and debris. 2. Dry: Let both surfaces air dry completely – any moisture trapped underneath can affect adhesion. 3. Wax: Apply a thin layer of wax to both the vehicle surface and the back of the magnet. This creates a protective barrier that helps prevent paint damage, moisture collection and visible residue lines, particularly in warm weather or with heavy sun exposure. 4. Apply: Place the magnet on a flat, metallic surface free of bumps, curves and rust, pressing firmly from the center outward to remove any air bubbles. Never slide the magnet to reposition – always lift and reapply.
You'll know it's properly installed when the magnet is fully adhered, there are no air bubbles and all corners are lying flat against the surface.
To protect your vehicle's paint, remove and reapply your magnet every 2-3 days – leaving it on for extended periods can cause damage. Clean the back of the magnet and vehicle surface weekly with a damp cloth and mild detergent to prevent debris and buildup. Keep your magnet away from petrochemicals such as gas tanks and always remove it before professional car washes or power washing.
Our car magnets are built for real-world conditions. Wind tunnel tested and highway safe at 80+ mph, they're also salt-spray and brine resistant – making them a reliable choice for winter driving, coastal climates and everything in between. The corrosion-resistant construction means rust and moisture won't compromise the hold over time.
For extreme temperatures (above 160°F or below -15°F), we recommend removing your magnet until conditions normalize. Always remove it before commercial car washes or power washing to protect both the magnet and your vehicle's surface.
Yes. We recommend removing it before any professional car washes or power washing to avoid damage to the vehicle surface.
Good news – our magnets are wind tunnel tested and highway safe at 80+ mph, so you can feel confident taking them on the freeway. A few simple steps will give you extra peace of mind:
Choose a rounded shape or a design with rounded corners to minimize wind resistance and lift at higher speeds
Make sure the magnet is placed completely flat against the surface with no air pockets or lifted edges before you hit the road
Apply at temperatures above 50°F for the best fit and hold
