I used their software to design my logo for a hat. In the end I had to eliminate the background completely which ended up working out nicely as the colour of the hat was similar to the background. But the reason was the software kept showing a blank spot in the background. My logo had small lettering which they changed to accommodate their embroidery machines capabilities. The font they chose was fine but the end result was still quite sloppy on the smaller lettering. I recommend NOT including small lettering on the design at all. The large lettering turned out pretty much perfect. The outer border is thinner and thicker in some spots and not super consistent. It does the trick in a pinch but if you were in a rush you probably wouldn't go with them either.
